GM Plug-In Crossover Car for 2011

Since Saturn will be sold to IndyCar owner and car dealer Roger Penske, GM's old plan to add an electric powertrain to a Saturn crossover will live on in another vehicle for 2011. Tom Stephens, vice chairman of GM, confirmed that the electric plug-in crossover car is still on track. The two GM cars that might get the crossover package is the GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox. The first plug-in cars are expected to be used by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Electric Power Research Institute. The plug-in crossover car when it comes out is expected to get around 35mpg+ in the city, would be propelled by both gasoline and electricity.
